Our Beans
At Pear Tree Coffee Roasters we believe in a mindful approach to roasting coffee. We strive to make excellent the small-batch coffee and to make thoughtful decisions about sourcing beans in a socially responsible way. Our micro-roastery, located on Frog Hollow Farm in Phoenixville, PA, is where our passion for coffee and the outdoors provides the perfect setting for greatness.
Our Roaster
Bellwether Coffee® made the first zero-emission, electric, integrated and automatic roasting system in the world.
Pear Tree Coffee Roasters is the first installation of the Bellwether roasting system in a non-profit business committed to empowering people of all abilities.
The Bellwether roaster will roast green beans to a rich brown with aromatic perfection, more consistently than any other roaster on the market. Better beans and consistent roasting means an excellent cup of coffee every time.
And it’s ease to operate provides work opportunities for our contributors with diverse abilities.
Our Program
As one of the first businesses of its kind, Pear Tree brings hi-tech innovation to good old-fashioned coffee roasting with benefits for the entire community. This is through the production of clean, green gourmet coffee, transparent sourcing on the fair trade market, and, most importantly, new opportunities for people of all abilities to realize their creative and employment potential.
Through individualized training, employees learn about the artisan coffee business from sourcing and roasting, to packaging and sales. Every staff member has the opportunity to express his or her creativity while learning a lifelong skill.
Our Products
We offer a variety of organic, whole-bean, responsibly-sourced, sustainably-roasted coffees by the bag.
We offer subscriptions for pickup on a weekly, bi-weekly (2X per month) or monthly basis.
We offer a coffee gift box (shown): mix and match four bags of coffee.
Cold-brews, a summer favorite. Cold brewed coffee is generally lower in acidity, sweeter and smoother tasting.
